Ready to find your singing voice? Our Singing for Beginners lessons are perfect for anyone just starting or wanting to reconnect with their voice.
You'll learn the basics of how your voice works so you can start exploring and developing your own unique sound. We'll cover fun warm-ups, how to keep your voice healthy, simple singing techniques, songs from different styles, all in a friendly group setting.
Feeling a little shy? Don't worry! This course focuses on singing together and helping you feel more confident. It's all about practice and having fun with singing, so there's no pressure to be perfect right away!
What will be taught on Singing Lessons for Beginners?
In our Singing for Beginners course, you'll develop control over your voice through practical exercises designed to build your confidence. You'll explore a diverse range of musical styles, including pop, musical theatre, jazz, blues, and soul.
Course content will include:
Practising a series of varied vocal warm-ups and technique exercises to improve your vocal range
Learning about body awareness through focus on posture and alignment.
How to develop a secure breathing technique
Group singing and developing good listening and blending skills
Learning how to achieve a good quality vocal performance while using your voice in a safe and healthy manner
Students will typically learn 3-6 songs during the course and will receive friendly feedback from your tutor throughout the course.

What are the entry requirements and level of this course?
This course is suitable for complete beginners and those who possess a passion and curiosity to learn more about their voice.
Students will learn about vocal technique, breathing, posture and application of this technique across a broad repertoire.
The ability to hear notes and sing them back as well as good spoken and written english is required.
How will I be taught?
All courses are taught within groups. Each week will begin with a thorough vocal warm up before going on to discover key vocal techniques and approaches to develop your confidence and singing skills.
Students will have the opportunity to sing a broad range of repertoire each week. Your voice will grow in strength and flexibility and you’ll gain a sense of control and confidence when singing. Best of all, you’ll have a lot of fun, and meet like-minded new people.
By the end of the course, what will I have achieved?
Students will have:
Developed greater confidence in their vocal ability and singing as part of a group
Grasped an understanding of how the vocal cords work and how sound is made
Demonstrated good posture when singing and an understanding of the breathing mechanism
Progressed through a number of vocal warm-ups and technique exercises
Applied this technique across a broad range of repertoire
