Screen Acting - Level 1

You’ll gain a solid foundation in screen acting techniques, including working with the camera, understanding shot types, hitting marks, and delivering truthful performances whilst on set. You'll also explore basic text analysis, improvisation, how to learn lines and build confidence on-camera.

Whilst no prior Screen Acting experience is necessary, if you are completely new to Acting please start with our Screen Acting Introduction course.

All of our tutors are experienced industry professionals with extensive screen credits and teaching backgrounds. You'll learn directly from these professional with current, real-world experience in film, TV and commercials.

It is primarily practical. Each session involves hands-on exercises, on-camera work, and playback so you can see your progress and receive personalised feedback.

We keep class sizes small to ensure individual attention and plenty of on-camera time for each student. Typically, there are no more than 12 participants per course.

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. You may be asked to bring a printed script for certain sessions, which will be provided in advance.

Most students move on to our Screen Acting Level 2, where the focus shifts to more complex scenes, character development, and working on professional-grade material.

All filming will be watched in class and you will receive notes from your tutor in class as this is more beneficial to your development. It ensures that everyone feels free to explore and engage without concern of scenes being publicly viewed.
